- Caring for the garden in April
Peach
Peach (Persica vulgaris) is widely distributed in our country. Producing fruits already in the first years is typical for this fruit-tree.If you take a good care for it, it will give you many fruits with good quality yearly. There’re three stages of development in the peach life. The most important thing in the first of them is the pruning for the crown forming. The highest crop amount is in the second stage. The third stages is characterized by the tree’s dying away and here’s needed a rejuvenating pruning. For the normal development of the peach tree is needed for a while an enviroment with a temperature under 7ºC. This period depends on the peach sort. Temperatures under minus 20-21ºC in the winter or more than 20ºC in the spring can damage the plant. In the blossoming season temeperatures under minus 2-3ºC can also be dangerous.
The peach is a drought-resistant tree, but it's good to have 1-2 irrigations during the vegetation. The best irrigation is the drip irrigation, because you can control the water amount which is very important for the peach. The lack or the excess of water can damage the tree.
Useful advices
- Peach planting
- The first thing you have to do before planting the peach trees is to clean the field from rocks and other plants. If you plant the trees in your yard, you have to dig holes 80x80x60 sm or 100x100x60 sm. The spaces between the peach trees depend on the given soil, humidity, sort of the peach, crown that will be formed and etc. Peach planting is mainly done in the autumn.
- Peach Fertilization
-
In peach planting are used nitrogen, potassium and natural fertilizers and phosphates. It's important to know that 2-3 years right after the planting, it's used only nitrogen fertilizer which is spread in two halfs - th efisrt one in the begining of the year (February - March) and the second half in the end of March - the begining of June.
